Flower care
General advice to help your flowers last as long as possible.
This is general advice that suits most cut flowers.
When they arrive
- Trim each stem by a couple of centimetres at an angle, using clean, sharp scissors.
- Use a clean vase filled with fresh, cool water.
- Remove any leaves that would sit below the waterline.
Every couple of days
- Change the water every two days and give the stems a fresh trim.
- Remove any fading blooms so the others stay fresh.
Where to put them
- Keep them away from direct heat, such as radiators, and out of strong sunlight.
- Keep them away from fruit bowls, as ripening fruit makes flowers fade sooner.
